Dublin, March 4, 2009: Kilsaran Concrete, Ireland's largest independent producer of a range of concrete products has selected BT to provide and manage their state-of-the-art, high-speed MPLS (multiprotocol label switching) infrastructure across their 16 sites in Ireland. The contract is worth half a million euro.
The MPLS solution provides inter-networking between different technologies and legacy IT infrastructures necessary to discover, configure and manage connectivity for their multi-site operation.
In advance of deploying the solution, BT carried out a network audit to ensure the right network solution was developed to meet Kilsaran Concrete's growing infrastructure needs. The chosen MPLS managed service will enable Kilsaran Concrete to benefit from greater cost efficiency and control through a standardised, flexible communications infrastructure platform with enhanced service levels to users. Kilsaran will have the ability to leverage the solution to drive competitive strength, optimisation of business processes and operations, and continued innovation.
'We are confident that BT has the track record and capabilities to bring world class innovation to transform our network and our business. They will provide us with the tools to drive cost efficiency and business agility and effectively manage the stable and secure network that is vital to our business,' said Tom McCarthy, Financial Director Kilsaran Group.
'We're delighted to deliver and manage a dedicated MPLS service for Kilsaran Concrete, and we look forward to helping them manage and transform their infrastructure into an asset for competitive advantage,' said Leo O'Leary, Head of Business Sales, BT. 'This announcement further underpins BT's commitment to Irish businesses helping them to operate optimally and compete effectively in the current economic climate.'
