BT was successful in a competitive tendering process because of its ability to deliver more bandwidth to multiple locations at a market-leading price. Two former winners of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, Richie O'Shea (2010) and Aisling Judge (2006), have today walked away with an A1 in Applied Maths. In addition, Richie scored an A1 in Physics and Chemistry, an A2 in Higher Level Maths, achieving 575 points in total. Aisling scored an A2 in Chemistry and Biology and a B2 in Physics, achieving a total of 550 points. Both want to study science and engineering in university and are awaiting first round CAO offers next week. read more »

- 11th March 2010 Belfast gets Super-Fast Broadband as BT goes live with BT Infinity
Super-fast broadband is now available to BT consumer and business customers in the Balmoral exchange area in Belfast. The new 'fibre to the cabinet' (FTTC) technology offers speeds of up to 40Mb/s to households and businesses with the prospect of those rising to up to 60Mb/s. As part of BT's UK wide rollout plan Balmoral is the first exchange area to get the service in Northern Ireland and will be closely followed by the Lisburn and Bangor exchange areas, which will have the service by the end of the summer 2010. read more »
